But what if you are want to travel from the North of Italy and are looking for the best route to reach the south of the Island.
The nearest ferry connection to Cagliari from the North of the mainland is Genova to Arbatax.
This too is quite a long ferry crossing that take about 18 hours which includes a one stop at the Port of Olbia.
Arbatax is in the heart of Ogliastra and is about 130km away from Cagliari. This journey will take a good two hours.
